“Music so good you can sell it door to door. Oh . . . they do sell it door to door.” –Dallas Morning News

“Someday I will fall awake,” sings front-man J.R. Byrd, who has combined his gift for popular song with Kirby vacuum selling techniques and discovered a new market for his music. He and guitarist Kory Washburn make the rounds serenading door-to-door in suburban Dallas. Together they have wooed many a housewife with their boyish charm and parted with over a 1000 copies of their debut CD A Portrait of Heartaches and Never Agains.

When Byrd takes the whole band out live you can call it un-casual Friday, for the members of Byrd's band rock out in suits. The coat-and-tie look accentuates the elegant and rarefied quality of their music. Imagine the refined sound of Sting combined with the more visceral Stone Temple Pilots. These great American boy-men have a sound they can call their own. And J.R. and Kory are happy to give you a demo right in your living room!

?Someday I will fall awake,? sings By Starlight front-man J.R. Byrd. Is he dreaming? After all, he has recently combined his gift for popular song with Kirby vacuum selling techniques and discovered a new market for his music. He and guitarist Kory Washburn make the rounds serenading door-to-door in suburban Dallas. Together they have wooed many a housewife with their boyish charm and parted with over a 1000 copies of their debut CD A Portrait of Heartaches and Never Agains. They are poised to release their second album The Return of the Great American Boy-Men in the fall of 2004 and will no doubt pedal it all over Dallas as well.

When Byrd takes the whole band out live you can call it un-casual Friday. The four members of By Starlight rock out in suits. More than a nostalgia-tinged nod to the Fab Four, the coat-and-tie look goes hand in hand with the elegant and rarefied quality of music they churn out. Imagine the refined sound of Sting combined with the more visceral Stone Temple Pilots, and you might be in the ballpark. To be sure, these great American boy-men have a sound they can call their own. And J.R. and Kory are happy to give you a demo right in your living room!
