Joshua Vaughn

Joshua Vaughn was born in 1985 to two school teachers and one older sister. While his parents were not musicians they felt music was important and compelled him to pick up the trumpet at age 10. Like most youth the sounds made at this time could hardly be considered "music." By age 13 his trumpet abilities had progressed and he found a desire to play jazz. In high school Vaughn began playing the upright bass. On bass Vaughn's high school jazz ensemble placed 3rd in the Branson National Jazz Cup. Vaughn then took his playing to a new level while attending York College of Pa. Tragedy struck his family that year with the loss of his sister. Vaughn turned to songwriting as an emotional outlet. He has been writing and performing ever since receiving local and regional success.
