I'm a composer/lyricist from Nanuet, NY/full time private piano teacher. Born in Brooklyn, NY/started piano lessons at age 5 after my parents Sophie and Gershon discovered I had the gift of music composition. At 10 years old I studied piano and music theory (for 3 years) at Cornell University. Member of the rock band The Creation while in HS in Cortland, NY. Received a BM degree, Ithaca College, MM in composition, theory and piano, Indiana U. Have written many pop songs, classical, new age and jazz tunes, 2 musicals for children, the opera: "A Better Way", and The NYS Red Ribbon Theme Song: "Hands Across The Universe", Winner of 11 different songwriting awards in '08-'09, including Best International Instrumental Song for "Commercial Street"/Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards. Jordan E. Spivack: I'm a composer/lyricist who lives in Nanuet, NY, where I am a full time private piano teacher. Born in Brooklyn, NY, I started piano lessons at age 5 after my parents Sophie and Gershon discovered I had the gift of music composition. At 10 years old I studied piano and music theory (for 3 years) at Cornell University. I was a member of the rock band The Creation while in HS in Cortland, NY. After receiving a BM degree from Ithaca College, I went on to receive my MM in composition, theory and piano from Indiana U. Since then I have written many pop songs, classical, new age and jazz tunes, 2 musicals for children, and the opera: "A Better Way", with libretto by Joseph P. Lanzone. I am also the composer/lyricist of The Red Ribbon Theme Song: "Hands Across The Universe", which has been learned and performed by over 15,000 students K-12 in New York State in the past 13 years. I am proud to be the winner of 11 different songwriting awards in 2008, including Best International Instrumental Song for "Commercial Street" in the Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards, The SILVER Award (2nd Place) for "Toccata" in the 25th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, Top Ten Finalist for "Toccata" in the 100% Music Songwriting Contest, and Top 20 Finalist for "Train Of Thought" in the Unisong International Song Contest.
