Songwriter Comes Out of the Clos

I've been writing songs as a hobby/ creative outlet for years, its something I love to do. Up to now, I haven't tried to do anything professionally with them as I'm not a performer/ artist myself. I don't know the industry and don't have connections with musicians/ vocalists to share them with. I'm also not the most tech savvy person so recording a basic demo seemed a bit daunting. However, recently I've felt driven to do something with the songs in the hope someone, somewhere might want to record/ perform them. It seems a waste them just sat there! Any help, advice and feedback would be most welcome :)
