Bio

Jordan R. 'Jay' Sinclair is a singer songwriter born and raised in Seattle, WA. Jay's music experience began at an early age. His mother taught him his first chords and he learned quickly from there. Jay played in many childhood bands and decided to join the US Navy as a young man with hopes to find a sense of structure and discipline. Jay made the most of his Navy experience and studied jazz guitar under Brad Huett, an accomplished jazz guitarist, who studied with Howard Roberts, and rock legend Tommy Bolin. The hightlight of Jay's Navy experience was playing in the ship's jazz band, which took him all over the world playing for audiences at nearly every port. It was this experience that defined his unique, blended style of jazz and rock influences. Coming to the conclusion that the Navy wasn't the career he wanted, Jay left the Navy after four years and returned to Seattle. Jay played for years in the local Seattle music scene and in many bands whose music ranged from show tunes to heavy metal. After many years playing the same songs with his eyes closed, Jay decided to try his hand at songwriting. Instead of relying on his raw talent, he sought a formal musical education where he studied composition, piano, sight reading and music notation, music production, music business, midi, audio engineering and songwriting. This experience proved to be the key that opened the door to a world of musical colors that Jay uses to paint his murals of life.
