Jason Borden was born in Fort Frances, ONT, Canada. He grew up in the small paper mill town of Int’l Falls, MN. From an early age he was surrounded by music. Most of his siblings played an instrument or sang or both.
At age l3, he was convinced by his mother to take up an instrument. Although he wanted to play piano, a Sear’s & Roebuck guitar is what he got. He studied privately for a few years and then began playing in various garage bands.
At age 2O, he moved out to California. There he discovered Bob Dylan. He also realized that if Dylan could sing so could he. He started doing the singer/songwriter thing soon after that revelation and has since played everywhere from California to Wisconsin.

His music is intimate and emotional, the kind of stuff you’d turn on late at night. If he’s passing through your town, come and see one of Minnesota’s undiscovered treasures.
