The Anti-Hit List
8. BRAD HOPKINS, "You & Me & New York City": The bassist for Toronto-based '80s band Chalk Circle so convincingly conveys the exhilaration of a first visit to NYC that he can get away with rhyming "city" and "pretty" (not to mention "girl" and "world"). The result is an exuberant paradox: an almost child-like enthrallment with the world's most proudly cynical city. (From World's Biggest Fan, www.bradhopkins.com)
