Jody Underwood has a fervent interest in all things musical - from writing songs to playing the piano and guitar, to starting a production company at 18. At the young age of 8, when he began to play by ear the songs his older brother was working so hard to learn, his parents realized the wrong child was taking piano. So began 15 years of lessons.
Underwood compiled his first 3-song demo at age 14. He continued to play by ear, studying Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett and diving headlong into the alternative rock scene during high school.
In the fall of 1998, Underwood and Pence left Trevecca to attend Belmont University. Underwood began to study Commercial Music: Piano Performance with a Music Technology emphasis.
