Greasy Grapes are a straight ahead rock n' roll band formed in Caracas in early 2006 by Antonio Romero (Guitar), Rafael Marquez (Drums) , Alberto Marquez (Bass), Leo Laya (Lead vocals) and Luifer Guirados (Guitar). Their music is influenced by American traditional southern music, which also inspired legendary bands in the late 60's and 70's like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Faces, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the The Allman Brothers Band among others. In April 2009 in a totally indepent fashion Greasy Grapes releases their debut album, "At the Back of the Hill". A CD with 11 previously unreleased tracks full of vintage vibe with a blend of rock, soul, blues and country sounds. It was recorded in Caracas by Francisco Domingo at True Digital Studio, produced and mixed by Antonio Romero and Rafael Marquez at BeatMakers Studio and mastered by the renowned engineer Bob Katz at Digital Domain Studios Orlando, Florida. Greasy Grapes es una banda de Rock & Roll nacida en Caracas a principios del año 2006 influenciada por la música tradicional del sur de los Estados Unidos. Música que a su vez sirvió de inspiración a grupos legendarios de los 70's como Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Faces y Lynyrd Skynyrd, entre otros. La banda está integrada por Leo Laya (Voz líder), Antonio Romero (Guitarra), Luifer Guirados (Guitarra), Alberto Márquez (Bajo) y Rafael Márquez (Batería). En Abril de 2009, después de meses de composición, pre-producción, maquetas y ensayos Greasy Grapes presenta su álbum debut, At the Back of the Hill, un CD con 11 temas originales lleno de sonoridades vintage de variados estilos musicales en una mezcla de rock, soul, blues y country. Este fue grabado en Caracas por Francisco Domingo en True Digital Estudio, producido y mezclado por Antonio Romero y Rafael Márquez en BeatMakers Studio y masterizado por el reconocido ingeniero Bob Katz en Digital Domain Studios Orlando, Florida.
En tan solo unos pocos meses en la escena musical venezolana, Greasy Grapes ha logrado ganar espacio, han sido entrevistados y sonado en diversas radios del pais como La Mega 107.3, Hot94 y Radio Ateneo 100.7, entre otras. Se han presentado en locales entre los que figuran El Teatro Bar, Moulin Rouge, Sake Bar, La Culata Bar y Bar 205. También han tenido reseñas en publicaciones como RumbaCaracas.com y AlBorde.com (publicación musical alternativa en L.A, California).
