Geekheaven Biography

Bill was born in 1952, started with piano lessons at age 5, continued through high school. Picked up the guitar in 1969 and has been playing ever since. Early influences were Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young and Bob Marley. Got more instrumental with Leo Kottke and John Fahey, then started playing electric guitar in a classic rock band and drifted towards Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd. Songwriting influences are from the late sixties, early seventies, late eighties and nineties (kinda lost it during the disco days). Plays rock, folk, blues, country and indie. Toured once with country singer Skeeter Davis in East Africa during the seventies. Now lives, writes and records on a solar powered ranch in Colorado. Bill's son David was born in 1992 plays drums and basketball and has influences more in the thrash rock and head banger genre. Their music is a compromise between generations- hard driving rhythm and melodic lyrical ballads.
