Bio

Well, I'm sure I'm supposed to make this grandiose, third-person hero narrative about my life; but I can never imagine anyone wants to read through all that. I'll try to keep this as succinct and interesting (and as third-personless) as possible.

I was born and raised in Cleveland. Took piano lessons on and off (mostly off) since the age of 4. Yeah, I'm still no good; but I know a couple Chopin tunes which is enough for me. I played in a few pop/punk type bands in high school. Nothing really panned out. I got a full-ride scholarship to a local university (which shall remain nameless). I realized college wasn't for me (and rum probably wasn't for me either). I left/was asked to leave after the first year. I then toured with a small band called Spenser around the east coast. We had some label interest, but eventually due a difference of differing artistic and other different differences, the band split. I moved to Los Angeles to seek my solo artist fame and fortune. The only accurate part ended up being the solo part. I eventually fell into the 9-5 (12-9 for me) job of being a professional poker player at an LA casino. I adopted the name, "Maverick," which I basically promoted myself around the players of the casino. This later changed to "Doug Maverick." After a couple fairly successful years of this, I had some cash, but realized I was (ironically) not at all richer for the experience. Driven by this new selfish longing, I returned home to Cleveland to invest in my own musical career. I then recorded the album "Who Is Doug Maverick?" in my basement by myself. There are probably a lot of exciting details, but you'll probably never hear them unless you're a bartender or a hairdresser. So, here we are now. Armed with this album and unhampered by a record label, I'm putting myself out there hoping that people will like the music, and I can make this happen on my own. I hope you can help!

Thanks,
Doug
