"Bands these days neglect the analogy between pop music 200 years ago, known as opera, and pop music today, known as Rock 'n’ Roll. People used to gather in venues to embrace the beautiful harmonic architecture and overlapping melodies that composers devised, and would be disappointed by anything less than powerful. Now, people still gather in venues, except we confuse the word powerful with loud, and have disregarded the importance of melodic and harmonic poetry, which is the essence of pop music.
For the past couple of years, we as a central american band have had an obsession with recreating that harmonic, melodic, and poetic beauty through our loud guitar amplifiers. I think that with this record (“Think of Not…”), we have come as close as ever to achieving that."

Luis Frañó

The Story So Far

The band started out in Honduras, in 2001, when Luis and Alex Frañó (vocals and guitars, respectively), despite not having the “drum and bass” lineup, decided to leave their home country and move to Mexico City, where most record companies in Latin America are established. Their optimist approach paid off a few months after settling down in the Mexican capital, when they met Alejandro Tirado, considered by them one of the finest drummers they had ever seen play.
After a few performances in small venues, an honest and unique chemistry took over their imagination, and the trio decided to write and record eleven songs for an album that would soon catch the attention from companies like Sony Music, even before it was actually finished. The album was never released, but the whole experience convinced the band to move to Hollywood.
So, in 2004, all three of them landed on American soil. The California air would soon fill their lungs up with inspiration they had never before experienced, but this time, they would be more patient and poised. First step was purchasing the right gear for them to sound great. Second, they would need a bass player; seemingly, the easiest of all tasks.
Ironically, the first order of business was accomplished before the second one. The band was ready to start playing, except they were still in need of a bassist. Eventually, fate took over the situation, and Skai Peñalva, who grew up in a house one block away from Luis and Alex’s house in Honduras, came to Los Angeles in pursuit of his own dreams. Mutual friends made both parties aware of each other’s presence in Hollywood, and without even an audition, the trio finally became a quartet.
The high costs of recording in Hollywood, combined with their tight budget, forced them into making good use of Luis’s previous experience in recording and producing pop artists. So, after a year and a half, the self-produced record “Think of Not…” became a reality, and has now generated interest from both the music and film industry. The band has just finished shooting a short film by Reza Bayat, which portrays the band’s experience in America, and brings life to “Donnie Voglia”, the character and myth.
Their short-term plan is to perform in every possible venue, and play the songs included in their album.
