San Diego Singer Songwriter Diane Waters has won TWO 1st Place songwriting contests: 2009 DURANGO-SONGWRITERS-EXPO, "Write with a Hit-Maker" 2/5/09 and the 17th Annual SAN DIEGO SONGWRITERS GUILD Contest 11/12/08. CONGRATULATIONS DIANE!!! On April 26th, 2008, Diane's song 'Manville' had air play on KPRI's Home Grown Hour.
She has been performing locally at: S.D. Music Awards Acoustic Showcase, Poway Center for the Performing Arts, Del Mar Fair, Lestat's West, Carlsbad Wine Merchants, Caffiends 634 Lounge, Claire de Lune, Twiggs Tea & Coffee, Java Joe's, The Rhythm Cafe'and even the famed Bluebird Cafe in Nashville!
She has received airplay on 102.1 KPRI Homegrown Hour, 92.5 FM and 95.7 FM.

"When people ask me how I can write songs, I tell them that I don't know how not to write. It's just in me. I've been writing songs since I was 10 years old. I never stopped and thought...I'd like to write a song one day. When I got my first piano, it just started happening within a few weeks. I guess my music was waiting for a vehicle. Years later I picked up guitar to see what kind of sounds I could make with it...I started writing new material on day two of that adventure."
