David Michael
He was born February 27, 1976 and it has been said that this boy from Concord, North Carolina was singing before he was talking. David Michael was dreaming about playing in a band from the time he was a child walking in the creek. When he was fourteen that dream was first realized. A guitar player playing at a local coffee house overheard David singing and asked him to join his band. From then on David made it his life to sing, write and perform professionally. While still in his teens, and playing in a band, David Michael began writing songs. His ability to understand, relate to others, and put the feelings into words has resulted in many great songs.
He says, “I write about my troubles and experiences over the years, and I think I have lived like a lot of guys listening to my music. They can relate to my heartaches and joys and know that I’m not just up there singing a song. I’m singing about my life.”
David Michael finally found the chance when he formed his own rock band at age seventeen and opened up for national acts such as Warrant, Molly Hatchet, Slaughter, and many more. “When I played with Warrant at the Ritz in Charlotte, NC and performed in front of all of those people, I knew right then that my place was on stage. Being on stage and hearing the fans singing my songs is the greatest feeling in the world,”David says.
In 1995 David and his band released their first CD “Cry no more”. The band recorded an additional EP and finally dissolved in 2000. From there David Michael picked up an acoustic guitar and started to pursue a solo career.
But, being from Concord, North Carolina, his heart was never far from his roots of Country and Gospel music. He then began singing and writing Christian music and playing for bands in church and family gatherings. He went on to release a Christian CD in 2002.
David Michael is now exciting audiences with his unique Country sound. The desire to entertain an audience may have started as a dream, but David now says that the stage is where he belongs.
David Michael is a singer/songwriter that is loved by all that hear him. He is currently recording his album Cowboy's Fast Road and is expanding his songwriting skills by studying under songwriter Austin Roberts who has had hits such as (“I.O.U.”- Lee Greenwood, You lie- Reba and “Me and You”- Kenny Chesney). “It has been a life changing experience working with Austin. I am so thankful he is giving me the opportunity to be a part of his team”.
David resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and two daughters.
