David is a folk / roots / blues songwriter whose work focuses on personal stories of struggle, inspiration, and overcoming adversity. His narratives, often playful and humourous, tend to have an overarching theme of: "Find one's place in the world, then 'go for it'".
David's musical influences include a wide range of folk, blues, celtic, jazz, country and gospel sources.
David writes his songs using piano and voice - he is primarily interested in writing for other people across a range of styles, rather than in performing himself.
David has recently been a finalist in in the 2007 Unisong International Song Contest and a semi-finalist in the 2007 UK Songwritng Contest, including:
