Dave Sturgeon has been on the Canadian music scene for over twenty-five years. Besides being a singer/songwriter, he has served in various capacities, including a twenty year career in Canadian radio as DJ, program director, and talk show host.

In the early 80s Dave put in serious van time along with Mike Peters as co-founder of the Cole Younger Band. Among the group's hits is a song called Wild Oats. In the hands of Grammy Award winning producer Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam, kd lang & Roy Orbison, Michelle Shocked, Jackson Browne), this Sturgeon original became the title track of the critically acclaimed debut album by Jim Matt (Little Dog Records - Los Angeles).
