Creative Bio

Charise Sowells grew up performing everything from hymnals to The
Jungle Book beginning at age 4. In high school she made it into the
prestigious Orange County High School of the Arts for Musical Theater,
a year when over 300 hundred kids auditioned and only 30 were
admitted. Within the school's Experimental Theater Group, Charise
discovered her knack for dramatic writing after writing and performing
a hit monologue in the controversial collaborative production, This Is
Not A Rave. The following year Charise submit her application and
portfolio to the new department for creative writing and never looked
back. Having graduated from Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in
Playwriting from the Dramatic Writing Program, Charise received an
award for her work throughout the years as well as an award for her
thesis play, (562). Currently she is freelancing in production,
traveling and pursuing her creative projects as a writer and singer in
NYC performing with the Thursday Night Allstars regularly on the East Coast.
