Brian Baker - singer/songwriter

Australian singer/songwriter Brian Baker has been writing songs and composing music for over 25 years. Initially from New Zealand, his style reflects these beginnings and also the influences from working in the Australian Music industry since 1980.

After forming “The Ones” in Melbourne in 1982, who were produced by
Eddie Rayner, the infamous Split Enz and Crowded House keyboard player, Brian ended up collaborating with Eddie on a number of projects. First on the soundtrack to the movie “Rikki and Pete” and then as “The Makers”, releasing two CDs in the nineties, and touring Australia and New Zealand.

Continuing their relationship Baker and Rayner collaborated on two songs for Brian’s 2004 CD “Prague Radio” – “It’s All Love” and “Head in the Clouds”. Returning the favor Eddie featured four of Brian’s songs on his “Play it Straight” CD.

Brian has been fortunate enough to make a profession from being in the music industry. Not only by recording and releasing his own CD’s - “The Field” released in 1995, Big Head Little Body’s “Bug” in 1999 and “Prague Radio” in 2004, but also supplying Australian Radio and TV with a succession of catchy, likable advertising jingles, as well as composing production library music for the Image label, and creating music for corporate videos and short films.

He continues to write, record, release and perform. His latest CD is an acoustic effort "The long way home", and the next CD is already on the workbench.

A prolific writer, he seeks to place his great material with other artists, placements in film, and TV shows and to develop his audience so as to facilitate releasing and performing his music worldwide.
