Bio

The Australian singer-songwriter’s rich vocals and gift for storytelling is a common bridge between country and folk. His original blend of smart, acoustic rhythms and poetic lyrics has a broad appeal that transcends genre.

This adaptability was a hallmark of the acclaimed EP ‘Working Man’s Dream’, which rocketed Bob onto the Australian country music scene in 2003.

The collection of carefully-crafted songs immediately caught the ear of radio station programmers across the length and breadth of Australia and, of all places, in the French country music scene. A review in the French music magazine, Le Cri Du Coyote, coincided with the EP being featured on radio RCF Rouen.

In Australia, Bob’s intimate style and ability to craft songs that are artful as well as commercial, brought him nominations and success at the latest 2005 and 2003 1233 ABC Music Awards. The award winning ‘Auntie Bonnie’ has a pure, homespun quality that showcases Bob’s gift for discovering the heart of a song and producing lyrics that sound like words we could hear ourselves speaking, while his second winning tune 'Back Verandah' is a simple song about a man with simple needs.

In fact, Bob’s attention to words sets him apart from many country crossover performers, but the honesty of the lyrics come straight from the heart.

Bob has performed all over the country, from Nimbin to Sunbury and Bob's new album, due for release in March 2006 will feature a number of live tracks, which continue to have audiences smiling and laughing at all his gigs.
