The last place anyone would expect to find good,
clean, inspiring rock is from a small Mississippi town
that can barely claim itself as a dot on a map. But
this is exactly the case for the band Before 9, out of
Lucedale, Mississippi. The band prides itself on playing
the type of rock that people from all walks of life
can enjoy and relate to. the band has set out
and found a fan base that can relate to their music.
Lead singer Jason Breland writes meaningful and
melodic lyrics that are great for singing along to,
while lead guitarist Chris Barker writes skillful riffs
that flow perfectly from transition to transition.
Bassist Dewayne Barker and drummer Chris Dueitt
work together to create precise, tight percussion
that completes the feel of the band and makes
people want to dance to the music. The band has
performed many shows, both locally and regionally,
and has become a closely-knit unit on stage. The band
began playing shows in the small downtown clubs of
Mobile, Al. They quickly built up a large fan base, and
within a year, they were playing nationally famous
nightclubs such as The Swamp in Ft. Walton, and Club
LaVela in Panama City, Florida. They were also the
feature band on the local rock stages at Spring fest
in Pensacola, Fl, and at Bayfest in Mobile, Al. The band
is currently writing their new album and getting set
to once again begin playing on the road. Expect to
