New Artist Radio’s 2003 “Alternative Rock Artist of the Year”
Ballista is built on hard work. They distro 100’s of flyers on the street, at concerts, & local clubs/bars. They also have recruits out their pounding the pavement. Drew sneaks back stage at almost every big concert & hands out promo CDs to everyone he sees. The band distros 600-800 cards/month displaying their name/logo/website. At gigs they greet & give cards &/or promo CDs to everyone that walks in. Post-show, the mailing list is distro’d - always adding at least a few more names to the more than 300 subscribers the band already has. At the shows the guys sell CDs/shirts & give away promo CDs/stickers. Rick writes/records most of the band’s music – critically acclaimed by New Artist Radio. Last year the band’s single “I Should Have Known” hit number one on their top 20 chart– based purely on listener votes from 10,000+ listeners/week.

“Funk that rocks your soul – Ballista rocks the house…” – Bob Herr, Teddy’s Oklahoma City

Ballista is a band built on hard work. Drummer Kyle Bailey is typically the head honcho in charge of promotions – but none of the guys mind getting their hands a little dirty. For even the smallest gigs they distribute hundreds of flyers on the street, at concerts, and local clubs/bars. But wait! That’s not all! The guys also have a plethora of recruits out their pounding the pavement – puttin’ the word out. It doesn’t hurt that Kyle is a freakin’ madman. This guy has no fear - he finds some way to sneak back stage at almost every big concert and hands out promo CDs to anyone and everyone he sees.

The band also makes and distributes about 600-800 cards per month that display their name, logo, and website address. This is just to make sure everyone knows where to go if they want to rock. At gigs the band greets and gives a card to everyone that walks in the door – some people also get a free promo CD (they’re chosen at random – yeah, right!). After the performance, the mailing list is distributed - always adding at least a few more names to the more than 300 subscribers the band already has.

At the shows the guys are selling CDs and T-shirts and giving away promo CDs and stickers. All gig money and proceeds from merchandise... (cont... full bio at http://www.ballistamusic.com/bio.doc)
