Rock n roll is more than a style of music, it's a form of entertainment. Annex believes in the power of entertainment, the power of rock n roll, and they strive to bring their audiences and fans into that experience with them.

It all began in the late 1980's when Paul and Craig Hanna started banging out songs and performing at talent shows in Green Bay. Craig on drums, Paul on guitar and they threw in a bass player once in awhile.

"It was a talent show at East DePere Middle School when we knew we were doing something right," Paul says, "it was me and Craig and we were rocking out with full sound and lights, a real rock n roll show and out in the crowd the principal had his hands over his ears."

And so it began. Paul and Craig got more serious and started rehearsals and rotating bass players, mostly friends who improvised. Tom Steinbreucker tried out for the band, but was told he was too quiet. Two years and three bass players later, Tom was back. He showed up for rehearsal in a baby blue Geo Metro with a bass cabinet for a stereo speaker. By that time, Chad had quit the other bands that were competing with the brothers and joined after one jam session.

Metallica and Kiss were some of the bands that served as first influences for the guys. While the music impressed them the magic was in the show. The show transcended the music and made the live experience intense.
