Alserene Bio

Alserene is an alternative rock band based out of Birmingham, Alabama. The band formed in 2007 with original members Steve Hakim(Vocals) and Joe Hakim (Drums), followed by the acquisition of Ryan Skelton (Guitar), and Matthew Whitehurst (Bass). After playing out at local hot spots; Workplay, Zydeco, and the Rocking Horse, the band picked up Sean Price, formerly of Romagna, in 2009 as their second guitarist. In June of 2009 Alserene opened up the Saturday festivities of the last City Stages Music Festival. On September 11, 2009 their EP "What This Feels Like" was released at Zydeco. The band is now writing new material to be recorded for a full length album set to release in Fall of 2010. Recordings for "On My Own," "Stay With Me,"and "A Few More Days," done by Rick Beato (Black Dog Recording). Recordings for "Sinking Faster," "Fear of Falling," and "All Serene" done by Joseph McQueen (Dos Amigos).
