A Loss For Words

A Loss for Words was formed in early 2005, consisting of two core members – Scott and Tawnee Arrieta. With influence ranging from symphonic classical movements to thrashing metal, from soothing vocal arias to the raw aggression of post-hardcore, A Loss for Words brings to the table a level of versatility and complexity that make them decidedly unique from other female-fronted alternative-rock bands.
With pervasive lyrics, haunting melodies, and memorable arrangements, A Loss for Words’ music finds a home in the hearts of a variety of listeners. Tawnee’s mesmerizing vocals juxtaposed against Scott’s powerful instrumental arrangements creates a sound that reaches out to pop and rock listeners, and permanently ingrains in their minds melodies that are rife with meaning and purpose.
As of lately, they have played numerous shows at local venues in their hometown of Tucson, AZ, including several acoustic performances. They are currently recording and producing their first EP.

Tawnee Arrieta (vocals, acoustic guitar):
Tawnee Arrieta is a classically trained vocalist with a passion for alternative-rock music. Her vocal training has exposed her to everything from choral arrangements to opera. As such, at the young age of 19, she is no stranger to the stage, and has recognized multiple times at various occasions for the versatility of her talents. Some of the most notable awards are as follows:

Scott Arrieta has been in multiple bands over the years with a significant local-scene draw. Perhaps the most active band he has participated in was The Smalltime, an Emo/Alternative Christian band. During their tenure, they recorded with Jeremy Camp’s guitarist, Ryan Truso, and won multiple battle of the bands competitions, landing them the opportunity to play at America West Arena before a Phoenix Suns game. At a single show, the band was able to sell one hundred copies of their EP, which earned them headlining opportunities in both Phoenix and their hometown of Tucson, AZ.
