Influenced by Jay Z, Tupac, LL Cool J, Run DMC, Snoop Dogg and others, Young Staxx quickly built a solid reputation as a young lyrical master in Boogy Down Bronx.

Staxx was writing his own lyrics and performing on the streets of New York at the age of 9. His uncle, R Coop, had a recording studio and encouraged Young Staxx to practice and sharpen his skills. Eventually, Staxx became a witty and imaginative rapper. Recording came naturally to Staxx who is a life-long music fan. "Music is a way for me to escape."

Growing up in New York, Staxx saw plenty of rough situations but he chose not to dwell on the negative that sometimes greeted him in New York. Instead, Staxx maintained a deft balance of the streets and school before deciding to dedicate himself to rapping completely.
