Saddle up your get-along!! There's a new breed of Hip-Hop Cowboy in Dallas, Texas. Jerrell QashFlo (pronounced "CashFlow") is a musical Jehu whose trunk rattling bass lines and culturally pictorial and politically aware lyrics will take you on the stagecoach ride of your life. Born Maurio Butler, he is the oldest of three children. Riding up from bottom of one of West Dallas' roughest neighborhoods, QashFlo is no tenderfoot to music. His love of music was discovered by his mother; and he became the lead drummer for the church at age 9. Also playing the lead and bass guitar, the roots of gospel music bloomed his universally diverse passion for all types of music.
As a youth, he began to develop his skills as a lyricist. His songs were fueled with the surreal life stories of the harsh reality of poverty in urban America and the effect of the rise of drugs on the family and community. Being the oldest child bestowed on him the unwanted birthright of the burdening responsibility to help support his family. With little money for new clothes, he was forced to deal with bullying. The firstborn of a church-going mother and natural born hustler, he quickly gained street notoriety and became none as "Qash Montana"; constantly finding himself in the clinches of the juvenile system. There a guard/counselor noticed his potential and asked Shaun Rabb, a local news journalist, to mentor the misguided lad. Soon after, QashFlo signed with EMI/Skyhi Records in 1992 and released his first single "Can't Win 4 Losing". With a variety of musical influences like Nirvana, Metallica, Garth Brooks, The Eagles, Tim McGraw, Michael Jackson and Jimi Hendrix, his music pumps with the sounds of R&B, Rock 'n' Roll, Pop, Country, Blues and Gospel. QashFlo has deemed his uniquely timeless style of music as "Proverbial Streetogly" which is also the name of his up and coming album scheduled to be released in early 2016. "'Proverbial Streetology' is lyrical street wisdom", says QashFlo. In 2007, QashFlo began his own record label, "PaypaWeight Music. The motivating force behind PaypaWeight Music is "O.rganized G.ame" a nonprofit organization. O.rganized G.ame is a group of transformed and renewed rappers and poets --once hustlers and players of the game of life-- who pose to teach the game and how to play it resulting in a positive alternative to street life.

Jerrell QashFlo is not only a rapper, musician, arranger, composer, singer/songwriter, and storyteller; he has been a guest sports commentator on "DarkSide Radio", and "Deep Ellum on Air". In December 2014, he premiered as a featured artist on Dallas' own "Rip the Mic". He was also the featured artist and appeared on "After Party Radio". To his credit, the EP single "Proverbial Streetology" was released in November 2014. Titles include "Triple D Cowboy", a club bagging Dallas Cowboys Anthem paying homage to the NFL Championship Dallas Cowboys and "Everyday Life" a musical diary of the everyday life of an O.G. Currently QashFlo is a featured artist with Big Chief on "Jumped Off Da Porch" with Bout Our Change Entertainment. This silver-tongued cowboy is sure to keep your head bopping on your musical voyage down the adventurous road called "Proverbial Streetology".
