I have had an intense career in the world of record production including following the recording mecca's as they have gravitated from NYC to LA, Philadelphia through Atlanta, into Nashville, Indianapolis, and back to my home state of Texas. I have had a hit record on commercial radio for most of the "new millennium" and have had write-ups in several major music publications including Mix Magazine and Pro Sound News. I am an accomplished Music Consultant and Manager having helped hundreds of up-and-coming artists and record labels understand the ins and outs of the music industry. I have a proven track record of "making noise" and creating a buzz and have helped put several bands onJai with client Jay Hollis the road for national tours, promotional radio tours, and awareness tours from all genres of music. I provide marketing, production, or consulting services to the independent music community. I guess you could call me the independent's "little black book" of music facts, ideas, concepts, and resources. Meaning - I have been doing this long enough to know who to call, where to go, or what to do to get what an artist needs accomplished. I do not use tired ideas about how to market an independent, I don't buy into the hype that Myspace.com will make an artist a star overnight, and I for sure do not believe that money is a limiting factor in the success or failure of independent music. The internet has changed the game completely. I have learned that if you have a few bucks, some good music, and are willing to put time and effort into your career then you can reach your goals. It's all about information, how to use that information, and what you do with your successes as you achieve them. I try to provide the information and success path to achieve goals. Better yet, I provide the foundation so an artist can get information on their own, when they need it.
I personally only manage a few artists at a time so I'm not spread too thin allowing me to ensure that each of my artist's visions are being realized. I manage with an eye on the big picture while maintaining a "hands on approach" guiding the daily actions needed to help artist's reach their goals. Since I have been in the music industry for so long, about 20 years now, I have developed key contacts in the music industry that allow me to get things done, move CD sales forward, and create an atmosphere that lets my artists shine.
