'Memoirs of a Reformed Fool'
I deeply regret the crazy, selfish, and mostly wasted life I've led.. Like the lyrics to one of my songs, 'I Found A Real Love' say, "I searched for pleasure both near and far." Those temporary pleasures almost destroyed me, but they never gave me any peace of mind.
I learned to play guitar when I was fifteen-- blame that on John Lennon and Buddy Holly--and somewhere along the way, during all the years that I was a musician, I also became a heroin addict, a criminal, and eventually, a prisoner for many years in Texas and Louisiana.
Even though I never hurt anyone, I ain't proud of the things I did. But, I did 'em and the truth always comes out, sooner or later.
These days I'm just a simple man following a simple plan and I owe everything to Jesus Christ for changing my life. I also want to thank Him for making it possible for me to have recorded my new CD called 'The Big House On Gold Street'.
It's country music with a 'kick' to it and if you like the songs here on Soundclick, you can order the CD from my website, www.freddiejohnsonsmusic.com
Musically speaking, it's a little like each of the artists who influenced me, such as Waylon, Vern Gosdin, and the Allman Brothers Band, to name a few. But the lyrics are a whole 'nuther story. They tell of God's love and mercy, and of my foolishness and self-made troubles, in a way that you probably haven't heard before. In fact, I think I'll just let the music speak for itself.
May Jesus reign in your life.
