Courtney’s music is inventive, her lyrics divine, and her playing obscene. Courtney puts herself and her virtuosity on display for all to hear, and even the unsuspecting are compelled to listen.
As she shuffles between L.A. and Dallas working on her upcoming fourth album, as she shuffles to gigs supporting herself and her peers, Courtney Fairchild is now giving every evidence that the work she’s doing will be just as accomplished as what came before it. With every song she records she grows. Her voice gets stronger (if that’s possible), her playing tightens (she’s a serious ax-man with finger-picking chops any touring pro today could learn from), and her songwriting finds new depths, new facets from which to propel her unique world vision into an increasingly global arena.

Press Info

With smoky vocals reminiscent of Tracy Chapman and Everything But the Girl's Tracy Thorn, Courtney holds court on stage with a presence far beyond her 20 years. Hailing from Dallas, the singer-songwriters latest album, 'Long Way' captures the bittersweet ache of a lover's loss, the beauty of nature and the confusion of a young woman standing at the crossroads of life...In an incredibly short time, the prolific Miss Fairchild has already recorded two full-length albums, as well as enjoyed the honor of opening for singer-songwriter veterans such as Patty Larkin and Karla Bonoff.

...For a change of pace I retreated to Club DaDa, where I was able to sit at a table and listen to a sweet-voiced singer named Courtney Fairchild whose torch songs were a lovely antidote to the blasting rock music at nearby clubs.

Bio

"I'm throwing aside heaven, and I'm embracing sin, and you couldn't sell me otherwise, so don't tell me to quit… 'cause only beside you, have I found, resolution… without a sound."

Have you missed Ms. Fairchild? After perfoming heavily since 1999 and a three month U.S. Tour in 2003, Courtney took a well deserved break from the public eye. Well, the break officially ended at the beginning of 2005, and Courtney's been thinking a lot about a lot of things, She's now on the verge of getting off that theoretical roller coaster and getting down to some major doing.

Since Courtney's 2003 live album, Right Here, you may have heard her on MTV's Road Rules or the The WB's High School Reunion. Or, you may be one of her nearest and dearest in Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA or Philadelphia, PA. Or, you may never have even heard of Courtney before, but soon you will.

Courtney is readying her fourth (as yet untitled) and most diverse album yet with a fourth-quarter 2005 release date in her view-finder. From a lyrically sparse "Maybe" to the trip-pop landscapes of the globetrotting "Hawaii", the new album promises to be a sensual, emotional journey through the last couple of years in a hectic life.

As if that wasn’t enough, filming has commenced on some form of video project documenting this wicked crazy, fun time in Courtney's life. Soon you'll be able to see and hear Courtney anywhere there's electricity. And really, who could ask for anything more?
