I started playing music about 35 years ago. My approach to music has always been as though it were a form of conceptual art, like a tone poem or a painting for the ears. Originality has always been the highest priority with my work and it didn't take long to recognize that I ask a lot from listeners and fellow musicians alike. I've never felt the need to impart deep phylosophy or instigate social change. My motivation has more to do with pushing back the boundaries of perception, stretching the envelope, as it were. With decent recording equipment more readily available than ever, it's even more exciting to work with my bass, piccolo bass, and drum machine to make new musical art. Soundtrack music has always interested me, as has some of the more unusual performance piece art experiments. The more unique the opportunity, the better. The rest of the story is really in the music. Give it a chance.
