Ben Wakeman's music is not hard to describe because when you hear it for the first time, you feel as if you've always known it. The warmth and sincerity of his voice fuse with his mastery of the acoustic guitar in the intelligent, soulful songs he writes about love, longing, redemption and hope. He is a veteran of the fertile acoustic music scene in Atlanta, Georgia and has perfomed or collaborated with many major artists including John Mayer, Shawn Mullins, Ed Roland of Collective Soul, Gillian Welch and Martin Sexton.
Ben has released two solo CDs, "Storm WIndows" and "The Overall Distance" to date. In 2003 his band Screen Door released "Greener" on the PasteRecords label and the song "Shine for Me" was selected to be on a sampler with other artists that included, Natalie Merchant, Jack Johnson and Bruce Cockburn. At present, Ben is busy writing and demoing songs for a new solo project he hopes to release in the Spring of 2005.
