Asy9 – The Biography



Born in NW Arkansas, more specifically, born in a city named Fayetteville, Asy9 was certainly never pre-judged by the public or by the music industry as “hard-core” or “dark”. Asy9 was at one time a five man strong band, but within a short time period, only one woman kept Asy9 as her “band name”.



In 1998, she was performing live by singing along to Tiffany songs and Janet Jackson songs for local talent shows, and in 1991 and 1992, she was singing with school choirs and harmony groups. In 1993 and 1994, she and a few of her friends formed a temporary band named “Triple X”, to put on a live, alternative show (featured were remakes of STP and Morisette tracks) for a local junior high school. The show was popular, and the response was well worth the months of practice.



In 1996, ZG was formed, our quiet and most mysterious Sammi Wilson being the bassist. ZG played in Fayetteville twice a week, every Wed. and Sat. night. By Halloween night of 1996, ZG was being announced for their live shows by popular stations such as KKEG, Fayetteville. At the end of 1997, ZG was no more, and Asy9 was beginning to come to life. And in 1998, Asy9 broke apart due to band members moving away, along with time shortages to play and practice.



Of each band member, Sammi was the only one to push Asy9 to what she truly thought it could and would be down the road, and in November of ’98, Sammi
