Artist X

Artist X is a songwriter, vocalist and guitarist who has decided to release his music anonymously via the internet in an effort to keep the focus where it should be - on the music! Previously, Artist X had been pursuing a music career using his actual name. Although he hadn't exactly achieved worldwide fame, he had achieved a modest level of success in the music industry and his music had in fact been heard by millions of people. He decided to change the subjcect matter of his music and his role within the music industry after he went through what he describes as a “spiritual awakening”.



The result of this awakening was a belief system that in many ways stood in direct contradiciton of the path that Artist X had been going down, with respect to his music career. He decided to focus his songwriting on issues that dealt with spiritual awareness and he also decided to release his music completely anonymously in an effort to “remove his ego from the process of making and marketing music as much as possible”.


Musically Artist X draws from a rich variety of influences including Pink Floyd, Phish, Nick Drake, Sujfan Stevens, Joseph Arthur and much more. The subject matter of Artist X's music have been informed by such contemporary spirtual authors as Eckhart Tolle, Allan Watts, Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra and others.

Artist X's debut CD, All Things Subside, is scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2006. This ten song CD will feature songs that deal with issues of spiritual awareness and spiritual transformation.
