Lyrics

I Will Stand
©2018 Greg Lambert

There's a time when we must rise
Together we can pledge where our allegiance lies
A time to bridge what divides
And stand side by side for what unites

Chorus

For the fifty stars and thirteen stripes
That wave across our great land
I will stand

Hand to heart, we must defend
This land we love to the end
May our flag always transcend
Trouble from without and within

Bridge

For all of those who fought and died
Defending freedom's cause
And the American way of life

Instrumental

Chorus

Not too many times do I listen all the way through a song when I'm reviewing.... This one, I did.... Great song! Brad Paisley wish.......

I really like this!! It's great to hear something that is sincere and patriotic, particularly at this moment in our history. The music has that just right anthemic quality, and the singer delivers an A-Plus vocal!! Love the instrumentation/arrangement. This is really a quality production all the way!!

Hooray! Another great patriotic song. And the message of this one is so needed today. We need a bridge to help close the chasm that divides us as a nation. If only we could have a leader that would bring us together as this song describes. The lyrics are absolutely FANTASTIC, very well-written, with a great tribute to our armed forces who defend our freedom. Chorus is singable and "I will Stand" is a great line. (Tell that to the NFL players, although they have the right to kneel or stand, right?!) Nice instrumentation. Great song structure and presentation.

Greg,

I like this concept & production a lot. I think it's sellable. My only issue with this song is that it feels like there is more music than words. There is a lot of space between each lyric in the verses and chorus as well. Because of that, I think it will be a hard sell. With that said, maybe increasing the tempo, adding more lyric, etc. will do the trick. Not sure.....Remember, I have been wrong before and someone may jump on it as is. Everything about it is extremely well done. Just that one issue jumps out at me everytime I hear it.....You are one of the best writers on our site and I appreciate your music everytime I hear it. If you get a chance, you should come up to our conference in June. Check it out. Www.btwmadison.com All the best, Roy
