Story Behind the Song

This is a song I wrote for my amazing wife. The lyrics will never do justice to what she has done for my life...& how she has restored my faith in love.

There's a lot to like about this song. The vocal is fresh, clear and almost completely understandable. It's what I call a good, honest vocal, one that makes you want to listen to the song again (which is what I just did) to make sure I took it all in. One of my favorite lyrics in this song is the helicopters falling from the maple tree. That's a killer lyric; I love it! "Loving you without losing me" ... another lyrical home run! Whoever produced this song gets 5 stars; it's real ear candy. Love the way you bring faith and God into the song...adds that spiritual richness I love to hear and increases the impact of the song. I could see this as a song to be enjoyed as special music at a wedding for sure.

I like this song. It has a very good feel.It reminds me of someone but can't quite place it. The hook did not jump out at first but I got it by the second round in the song. Good lyrics and well delivered. Arrangements build nicely with nice variation in the verses and chorus. Good work all round, I would say.

Lyrics

ETERNITY

Seemed like 4,000 days & nights,
Stumbling blindly in the moonlight,
Never quite knowing where to turn.
Been many trials God sent my way,
Had faith when darkness ruled my days,
Then I was finally given you.

Baby, I'll be there for your history,
Like helicopters fall in fall from the maple trees,
I'll be your consistency.
It took a lifetime, but now I know,
Sometimes up is down, and green doesn't mean go.
It's just the world I know, the world I know.

Why do we make someone wrong seem right,
The heart is blind to what mind can see.
We just simply turn away.
Well, my scales fell and I'm open wide,
Your love makes me feel brand new inside.
And I'm so blessed that you're mine.

Baby, I'll be there for your history,
Like helicopters fall in fall from the maple trees,
I'll be standing here.
It took a lifetime, but now I see,
I can love you without losing me,
Co-existing in harmony...for eternity.

Never thought I'd trust again or ever heal,
But you've shown me things that are so surreal,
It's like being born again,
It's like being born again...again.

Baby, I'll be there for your history,
Like Winter brings snow, or Spring wakens the trees.
I'll be standing here.
It took a lifetime, but now I see,
I can love you without losing me,
Co-existing in harmony...for eternity.
Eternity....
