LET ME KNOW

Song Length 4:30 Genre Folk - Country

Lyrics

THE SONG I'VE BEEN SINGING SEEMS SO OUT OF TUNE
NOW I HOPE THAT IT'S THROUGH
CAUSE TO THE TUNE OF YOU LIFE COULD GO ON
WITHOUT ONE SOUR NOTE AGAIN
RIGHT TO THE END

I'VE BATTLED SO LONG WITH THESE FEELINGS INSIDE
FINALLY YOU'RE BACK BABE AND LOVE MUST ABIDE

SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOU'LL BE HERE WHEN NIGHT TURNS TO DAY
LET ME KNOW THERE'LL BE NO COLD WIND BLOW TO TAKE YOU AWAY
LET ME KNOW THE REASONS I GIVE MAKE YOU KNOW WE CAN LIVE
WITH A LOVE THAT YOU CAN'T TAKE AWAY
PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOU'LL BE HERE WHEN NIGHT TURNS TO DAY

THE LIFE WE WERE LIVING WAS JOYOUS AND BRIGHT
BUT FADED TO GRAY
BUT NOW IN THIS MOMENT IT'S FEELING SO RIGHT
LET'S KEEP IT THIS WAY

THE STORM IS NOW LIFTING-THE CLOUDS FADE AWAY
BLUE SKIES ABOUND AND WE MUST MAKE THEM STAY

SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOU'LL BE HERE WHEN NIGHT TURNS TO DAY
LET ME KNOW THERE'LL BE NO COLD WIND BLOW TO TAKE YOU AWAY
LET ME KNOW THE REASONS I GIVE MAKE YOU KNOW WE CAN LIVE
WITH A LOVE THAT YOU CAN'T TAKE AWAY
PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOU'LL BE HERE WHEN NIGHT TURNS TO DAY

AND BABY I NEED YOU SO MUCH
AND WHEN DAWN LIGHTS THE SKY
JUST LET ME KNOW
THAT YOU'LL STILL BE HERE

PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOU'LL BE HERE WHEN NIGHT TURNS TO DAY
LET ME KNOW THERE'LL BE NO COLD WIND BLOW TO TAKE YOU AWAY
LET ME KNOW THE REASONS I GIVE MAKE YOU KNOW WE CAN LIVE
WITH A LOVE THAT YOU CAN'T TAKE AWAY
PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOU'LL BE HERE WHEN NIGHT TURNS TO DAY

PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOU'LL BE HERE WHEN NIGHT TURNS TO DAY

Good song. Alot of feeling.

its a more positive spin on country songs. asking a person to stay instead of losing them. reminds me of Kenny Rogers.

Instrumentally beautiful...

Loved this, it develops so naturally, the harmonies are rich, the instrumentation is perfect never overpowering. Nice build around the 2 min mark. Drums are subtle and really elevate the emotion. Lyrics stellar. "when dawn lights the sky" "let me know there'll be no cold wind to take you away" etc. Really enjoying this. Love that hook.Vocal delivery is authentic, and captivating.

Cool Country folk influenced tune. Good story and well performed. Balanced production of music and vocals is well done.

Nice story line...vocal is very clear, lyrics tell a great story...music very appropriate for the style of music, Folk Country....I love a great story...

I liked the verses and the melody alot.

Very good job , I like the slow vibe

I enjoyed this song. It had a lot of emotion. I like how the first half was just guitar and vocals. Nice touch. I Like it!!!

Great song, earned an excellent rating for originality. Heartfelt vocal. Good dynamics, lyrics and guitar keep the interest up through the whole song.Kind of a Jayhawks feel to me.

Very nice thoughts in this tune! When night turns to day great concept. nice instrumentation and lyrical phrasing indeed.

Melancholy country/folk ballad. Lyrics harken back to original country ballad days of heartfelt stories and emotions. Nice song.

A beautiful rock ballad about love. Atmospheric guitar solos. Catchy melody. The development of the arrangement is well thought out, it is interesting to listen to the very end, the music breathes, lives, changes. Very emotional and colorful.

This song is strong, it can be in a scene in yellow stone...Great writing and instrumentation! You need to make more like this one!

A nice tune. A pleasing sentiment.

Interesting

Great song love the harmonies

Nice arrangement, a good move to hold off on the entrance of the drums and full band. Tremolo guitar--good. Multiple tremolo guitar, extra nice!

Loved the vocal !

Nice song and nice approach

Love the sparseness of the instrumentation, it makes you pay attention to the lyrics more. The lead vocals work very well in this song, you can hear the angst, the sorrow, the hurt so very well. Once the harmonies and the other instruments come in the chorus, they are really a nice change of pace and very pleasing to the ear. Nicely done, enjoyed it very much.

Not my usual genre but a nice tune here, good job!

I really, really like this. In terms of vocals, I'm extremely impressed. I hear singers try to do the somewhat casual, indirect, "folk" sound (Neal Young/Jay Farrar) and it fails. I think they go for it, because it seems easy. BUT IT'S NOT. On the word "abide" early in the song, I knew I was listening to someone who knows how to sing. You use pure vowels when you need to, to really hit and hold notes, but being able to go back to a more spoken, folk sound on demand is extremely impressive. The arrangement is perfect. I wouldn't change anything. I was hoping some drums came in, and they did. I was hoping some slide would come in, and it did. The bridge was good. Really, I'm extremely impressed. This is a genre and "style" that a lot of hacks try to mimic. The assumption is there is no need for technical skill at guitar, writing, or singing. What they miss, is it's a lot harder, because there is no smoke and mirrors. It's genuine, real songwriting and singing. And you nail it in my mind.

Droning and strained, woeful, weary, and nearly defeated, pleading and begging for acceptance and relief, the music and lyrics fit wonderfully like a hand in glove. It's an old subject but it feels like it's done in a different way.

Great song. Nice mix of folk/country and rock. Singer kinda reminds me of Tom Petty a bit. I hope that you don't take offense to that. Great recording and use to the slide guitar. Very subtle but it gives it a little be more of a country feel. Over all great song and recording. You should have N.P. getting this song scored for a multitude of media outlets.

Great song, really liked the doubled vocals and the sound of the big toms during the drum fills. It really enhanced the recording. Just a classic folk country song that's well executed and really tugs on the heart strings. Great job.

Fantastic phrasing and harmony. This is just really, really, nice. Killer buildup when drums/bass enter.

Just damned well done!

I typically don't listen much to country. But this has its place. Good old school country music. None of that pop rock with a southern drawl calling itself country. Good job sticking to the roots of the genre.

This is a very interesting and original song, really enjoyed listening. Great lyrics and love the message. Production and mix is good and everything sounds great and love the way the song builds. I writing this as I'm listening and it just keeps getting better. Great work

Even though I don't listen to country I like this song. The harmonies for the chorus are terrific

Really love this song!! Thought I had reviewed it before? Really nicely done!! Vocal is so emotive! Lyrics and hook are very fresh! The arrangement is great....love that pedal steel. Really a pleasure to listen to.

I think there is alot of strength in these verses. Its nicely and fully felt, Excellent. The vocal is lacking.

Voice is good. Instrumentation is good. The melody is good. It has a sincerity that comes through as truth. This song belongs in a film or accompanying a visual production of some kind.

I like this song. It sounds like a very personal tune for the artist. I liked the arrangement and the pedal steel was a nice touch to sprinkle in some flavor. At times the song had a little Tom Petty quality to it which I dug Lyrics were good and the vocal delivery fit the song just right. Good job. I hope to hear more from this artist!

This song has that post Birds country feel...and that's Cool!! A real folk & Country thingy going on......Love it! Love the vocals and the instruments in the arrangement. The simplicity of the arrangement works well in this composition, excellent job! Keep up the wonderful job!!! I need just one more word to get 5 STARS!! Et Voila..I'm there!! Wink, Wink, Nod, Nod......

Love the vocalist tone classic

MGB writes from his heart like it really matters and to hell with everything else.

Here's a sincerely sung LOVE WON BACK song. You have to be happy for the songwriter as he sings about his love returning. There's some nice country sound in the instrumentation. Nice use of weather metaphor in the lyric writing.

You're no Maria Carey but you know how to write a good song with a great arrangement. Music followed your vocal performance nicely. The drop was a typical "tear in my beer" drop, but I felt you were on par for your genre and you did a great job with your lyrical content as well. There's a few mix issues I think could be addressed, and sure, a new vocalist would sell this much more quickly... but this is a solid demo. I can picture any established country artist buying you out on this one. Good work.

Great natural and real performance that conveys the song so sincerely.Instruments are played in total sync to the vibe of the song and vocal is raw & believable. Nice job.

This is a very engaging song. It is very catchy..a really strong hook, particularly the chorus. Beautiful chord changes on the words 'cold' and 'reason'. Great vocal performance with some nice double tracking of the voice, which is really effective. Very nicely recorded. Great sound quality. The song has a great epic feel and would not sound out of place on Neil Young's 'Harvest.

I feel the sentimentality in the vocal adds an effect/feeling to the song that wouldn't have originally been there had the singer been a different voice. Not sure if there's autotune or melodyne on the music but the singer sounds like they are hitting notes nicely.

Just not my thing in music

Nice Job on this. A little Grateful Dead seasoning their. Pays to not jump in all at once. Nice overall vibe.

Guitar and vocals are great. Lyrics are very creative. Has a lot of potential as a country song. Mostly everything about the song, vocals, instrumental, lyrics, were all good. All the pieces to the song all there, they just need to be pieced together.

I appreciate the passionate song writing and delivery of the lyrics. I think that these are by far the strongest parts of the track. I also enjoyed the steady progression in the song, but I think that you can achieve the end result a little quicker by cutting out a min or two of the track. I also think that this song would sound much less depressing if you added more sounds to the beat, or had a female duet/call-and-response to help liven things up a bit. Overall it is decent.

great singing performance! great writing, nice production. Very well executed. Nice harmonizing. Bravo!

great vocal quality. good captures. nice harmonies. well mixed. i am sucker for the big clean guitar tone...its like chasing smoke trying to nail it down some days. good lyrics. this is a very intimately painted song that is totally driven by the vocal harmonies and the general crescendo of the entire song. well done.

sweet vocals & Harmonies...pedal steel..yeah!

love the bridge
