Just The Same

Story Behind The Song

This is a song co-written with Ken Matthiesen. Ken sent me the lyrics and the tune came right away. I think Jason and Scott did a beautiful job on the recording.

Lyrics

I don't have a pile of money
I might seem a little plain
I don't drive a fancy automobile
But you love me just the same
Just the same Just the same

(chorus)
I love the way that you love me
At night when you call my name
You don't want to let me go
I love you just the same

I don't have a sexy job
But the bills all get paid
And every night when I come home to you
You love me just the same
Just the same Just the same

( repeat chorus)

(bridge)
And the moon still lights your smile, your eyes still shine like stars
And I love how we were and year after year I love the way we are
Just the way we are

(repeat chorus)

Just the same

Very smoothly done. Nice arrangement and great vocal with a country vibe.

Lovely lead vocal tone and use of harmonies. Great piano and acoustic guitar. Strong melody, with a good solid chord progression. The song is very well recorded and mastered. Shades of the Eagles in the song and sound.

The guitar and piano work well together in this and I think the harmonies make this much more interesting than it would be without them. It comes across very clean.

a nice little sweet sentimental love song with a country/folk flavour. some lovely piano on this track and it has a nice sad sweet tone to the song, guitar is nice too.

This song is strong out of the gate...first verse tells you everything you need to know. The singer is loved by someone who doesn't care about fancy things and money. The rawness of the vocal seems to work here as it's flawed and real...very believable.

i like this song. good message, right direction. good harmonies, and the keys are right also. i like how you have left some headroom---dont hear that alot anymore but it means better quality.

hard not to like your own song!

Great song and so real, people could really relate to this song.
