Story Behind The Song

The story that was envisioned was one of a Bonnie and Clyde style relationship - a couple that had been on the run from their troubles for some time. Long trips across state borders, seedy motels, and filthy little truckstop diners. Eventually, the main source of their grief is resolved. Perhaps they were wrongly accused by the police? Perhaps they owed somebody money? Maybe they were just young and brash, and their parents finally came to terms with them being together? Whatever the case, this song is about the aftermath, and the journey back home. The couple is able to finally stop running away, and they're feeling overwhelmingly relieved, content, and excited about what the future brings.
