Song Description

This song takes the concept of the Parade and applies it to life via relationships and views of the future. The Parade is a representation of the ideal. Subtly the song hits on the fact that every human wants to be in the ideal place, with an ideal life, with a supportive community/family. Hence the refrain in the middle of the song (see lyrics). The opening verses go through the motions that one goes through in making a decision to go somewhere and pursue something. In this case the metaphor is "See the Parade..." These verses also talk about following the ones heart and trusting it. The end section of the song goes through the realization that spurred the jovial celebration. This is motivation and optimist, the best description is with the words... (see lyrics)

Story Behind the Song

The story behind the song is the pursuit of music and the full pursuit of love. The duo, Andrew Thoreen and Julie Thoreen are a married songwriting team who have taken a long time to realize their need and desire to pursue careers in making music together. It has made sense for so long to do this, but it took years for the two 25 year-olds to make it a reality and make their desires to create come to fruition.

Broadjam Member Reviews

I LOVE the song. I've been singing it for nearly a week now - it's stuck in my head and (happily) won't leave. I hear throwbacks to all the great artists of the 1960s as well as an awareness of what's going on now. They have captivated me with their vocals and their amazing description of the joyful life. Just awesome!

Lyrics

After long, we'll wake
We forgo, and wait
After long, we'll
See the parade
believing,
you and I will start dreaming of their faces

We should go, and wait
After long, we'll wake
We should go, and
Follow the pack
along the way
where our hearts unleash our good words

We would like to be the people in a perfect place that have a life to live, kids that make them feel aware of why they are themselves, and what they need to do to make it in a perfect place that takes so much to teach the kids to make it by themselves

We would like to be the people in a perfect place that have a life to live, kids that make them feel aware of why they are themselves, and what they need to do to make it in a perfect place that takes so much to teach the kids to make it by themselves

Float into the wind
sails up,
take off

La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La

Sometimes it takes long to understand that you've been given something good

Then you'll know the time it takes to pour your heart in someone that you should

Rearrange your mind before your made to give it up or knock on wood

Try but if you won't, don't loose hope when you are older. Understood?

La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
