The Peace Above

Story Behind The Song

This song was originally written for Entrepreneur/Philanthropist/Aviator Wei Chen to commemorate his historic and successful attempt to become the first Chinese citizen to circumnavigate the globe in a single engine plane in 2012. Wei (pronounced WAY) partnered with the Memphis Music Foundation to conduct a contest for Foundation members to create a worthy theme song to capture the essence of Wei's journey. St. Jude Children's hospital was Wei's main sponsor for the trip, with proceeds from donations going to support the ongoing efforts at St Jude to provide world renowned care for children in need. Song Description

The main theme of the Peace Above is that regardless or race, sex, or location around the world, we could all benefit from treating each other like sisters and brothers despite dealing with any bad hands that life might have dealt us. Whatever the situation, operating in a spirit of love towards one another will always help in alleviating, if not eliminating our problems.

The Peace Above (Spread Love)
Lyrics & Music by Tory DeSean

(Wei Around The World)

If you look around, you'll see plenty of frowns, everything from gas prices to personal vices bringing us down
Everybody has their own reason for hiding their smiles, but a silver lining lies behind every one of our clouds
19 No matter who you are what you're going thru what you should do
Is turn your mind to the peace above

Spread love thru the Peace above from one city to another, we're all sisters and brothers
Spread love thru the Peace above from one color to another, we're all sisters and brothers

Everyone can play a part, no matter if you're near or far, light or dark, cause it's your heart that matters
We're all the same on the inside (same on the inside), covered by the same sky (same blue sky)
So whatever divides us can't compare to the ties that bind us
No matter where you are what language you speak I still believe that together we can spread love thru the peace above

CHORUS

(Sometimes you might wonder) How high must I climb to leave behind my troubled mind, troubled times, trouble I'm too high above you...

CHORUS
