Story Behind The Song
Sumadis is a phonetic version of "some of this". The expression "do you want some of this!!??" was the main inspiration for the track title and general feeling of the track. The song was written by the bass player in the band and was part of jazz composition assignment when he studied jazz at the University of Northern Iowa. At live shows the band usually opens up with this song to get the crowd pumped up.
Song Description
The tune starts out with a nervous, uptempo agitated odd meter rock section and all of a sudden has a slow psychedelic breakdown guitar solo in the middle. Following the guitar solo is a build up to a funk/groove oriented Tenor saxophone solo. After the raging solo the band launches back into the material from the begging of the track and ends the tune with a free-jazz freak out.
