Story Behind The Song
The song is about professing love to a sweetheart, whether it be a high school crush or a girlfriend of several years or even a wife. The verses are more action oriented while the chorus is very declamatory. The poem that is recited in the bridge is a love poem that I wrote, and opens with "The first time I saw those pretty blue eyes, I thought that I would melt inside". The poem also explores the ideas of struggling with life and dealing with not being accepted for who you are. The song is supposed to culminate and bloom in the second half of the bridge with the heavy guitar riff, which leads into the recapitulation with the last chorus. It's meant to be a journey into love.
Song Description
Song begins with a catchy riff in the distortion guitars, then moves to a softer verse with cleaner guitars, rhodes, and bass. The chorus is catchy with big power chords in the guitar, which add in little riffs in the later chorus. The second verse is more driving, with more distortion guitar, especially in the second half. After the second chorus, there is a short segue into the bridge, which is divided into two parts. The first half of the bridge is a clean breakdown over 2 chords with the lead singer reciting a poem in the background that's barely discernable. It then builds into the second half, which is a heavier guitar riff that repeats several times and then leads back into final chorus, which is very similar to the second, except it leads into an outro with the lead singer holding a high A and repeating 'Everything' over the verse riff.

Lyrics
All I see are your eyes,
And in those eyes I see the skies of heav',
Heaven far and wide.
So just take my hand,
There's nothing left to mend.
We'll go far from here, far away.
You mean everything, and maybe a little more to me.
Everything, and now you're striking the core of me,
'cause you mean everything, everything to me.
There is nothing left to say,
And there's no one left to pay.
So just let me see you now, let me see your face right now.
I can only wonder how anyone could have been around,
Anyone but you, so let's go.
You mean everything, and maybe a little more to me.
Everything, and now you're striking the core of me,
'cause you mean everything, everything to me.
