Story Behind The Song
I've always been interested in rhythms from around the world and I have a growing collection of exotic instruments. When I was living in Turkey, I bought a beautiful clay and goat skin drum from one of the local markets. It was well played before I ever showed up. After a dry spell writing songs on the piano and acoustic guitar, I picked up the drum and the idea for this song just came out. It was written and recorded in three days.

Lyrics
Ancient Times
Sometimes I find myself dreaming about the places that we might have been,
And even though our past is behind us I know our paths will cross once again,
Just like ancient times.
I saw your face in the shadows as I toured the seven wonders of the world,
And when I bumped into Ali Baba,
Well, I bought you for a pocket of pearls.
Seems so long, just like ancient times.
We've been through so much together,
The fall of Rome to Montezuma's revenge,
I feel as light as a feather,
I turn the corner there you are again,
Still connected, just like ancient times.
Here we go...
Sometimes I find myself dreaming about the places that we might have been,
And even though our past is behind us,
I know our paths will cross once again.
Ancient times.
