Song Description

This folk song was inspired by Donovan's "Catch The Wind". I was struck by the beauty and simplicity of that song. Also, I felt the need to express my appreciation for the special people in my life. Additionally, I see this as a message for my kids and grandkids as time goes by. I'm very proud to mention that the more produced version of this song was selected and appeared on one of Women of Substances' most popular podcasts.

Story Behind the Song

This is a song about supporting your friends and family. I wrote this song after a battle with cancer and I guess it's a message for the people in my life.

Lyrics

The Wind and Sand

Take my song
hold it in your heart
You'll never be alone
Whenever we're apart

Hold on to your dreams
or place them in my hand
I'll help you on your way...
Through the wind, across
the sand.

With every step in time,
Keep these words in mind.
up against the rising sea....
You'll always be with me

Hold on to your dreams,
or place them in my hand...
I'll help you on your way.
Through the wind, across
the sand.
