Story Behind The Song

I created this song as a message to late teens coming out of highschool/entering college/(university in Canada)that they can live a fun life before settling down and how it isn't cool to date married men who hit on them.

Song Description

I remember when I turned 18 and was able to enter bars (Canada), I was totally flabbergasted as to the married men that would flirt with me, one in particular was a friends dad. He told me how he watched me when I was young and knew I would turn out to be this beautiful woman and as he was spilling out his words his face kept coming closer to mine and I backed up and said I'm not into married men or men the same age as my father. It was really uncomfortable for me so i just totally left the bar. When I got home I was thinking would other girls have fallin for that? Then I started thinking these older men who snap up young women...in their teens, then this teenager has a mother role to fill. She basically went from kid to step mom. How awful she couldn't have had a life of her own for awhile instead of going from her family home to her own family home. So I guess its just a message that life doesn't have to start so serious so young. Play a bit, meet different men, become aware of the different personalities out there so you know what works best with you. Don't be afraid to get an education and just have fun!

Just Wanna Be Single ©

not ready for any kids
not ready for any vows
not wanting a permanent home
no dogs or cats allowed
just wanna live my life
whats so wrong with that
with a set of sexy eyes staring back
cause i

just wanna be single
i just wanna be free
i just want no one
to count on me
i just wanna live it up
whats wrong with that
with a set of sexy eyes starin back

i'll be headin to university
in a few short months from now
my head is in the future
and my heart is chillin out
and i'll never miss the boat
when it comes to getting tied down
cause theres over a hundred thousand million
single guys around and i

just wanna be single
i just wanna be free
i just want no one
to count on me
i just wanna live it up
whats wrong with that
with a set of sexy eyes starin back

i just wanna be single baby
i just wanna be free
