Here's To Change

Story Behind The Song

I heard "We Made You" by Eminem for the first time while on my way to dinner with a friend in LA. I made them sit in the car with me until it was done because I wanted to remember the melody. I started writing the song that night in my head and the next day "Here's To Change" was created and completed.

Lyrics

Here's to change, here's to change
I got several years to make up for the pain so, here's to change

Unlucky, uncertain but going through with it anyway
stomach knottin', sweat drippin', hands shakin' but I'm not stopin'

I know it's the wrong decision, I've known each and every time
but here's the kicker, no real shocker, there's nothing you can do to change my mind, so...

Here's to change, here's to change
I got several years to make up for the pain so, here's to change

Sit me down and, heart to heart me
make your threats to what you please
I'll find a way to break your trust again cuz it feels good, this rush inside of me

Well I know it's the wrong decision, I've known each and every time
but here's the kicker, no real shocker, there's nothing you can do to change my mind, so...

Here's to change, here's to change
I got several years to make up for the pain so, here's to change

Here's to change, here's to change
I got several years to make up for the pain so, here's to change

Here's to change, here's to change
I got several years to make up for the pain so, here's to change

Here's to change, here's to change
I got several years to make up for the pain so, here's to change
