I was watching a documentery on the artist Pink. She was talking about how Carey Hart kept asking her to mary him, and she said "I know I want to be with you forever...I'm just not ready for forever yet". I said to myself, "that sounds like a song!" So, I came upstairs, grabbed my guitar, and the song was mostly finished in about 15 minutes. I went to the studio where Kevin helped me finish it up.

It's a song about loving someone and knowing they're the one but you're not ready for that kind of relationship yet, and asking that person to wait for you.
