Story Behind The Song
As an adult who has returned to school in an attempt to reinvent myself I noticed that times have changed. The youth don't care about education. They have a sense of entitlement but no work ethic. They believe the deserve what their ancestors fought for while trashing their ancestors accomplishments and paying no dues of their own.

Lyrics
Reparation
I am my ancestor's reparation
Their 40 acres and a mule
I am my ancestor's reparation
Their 40 acres and their mule
For labor unjustly used
I am their reparation
For years of torture and abuse
They deserved what I receive
Success should be contagious
Failure should be outrageous
I am my ancestor's reparation
Their 40 acres and their mule
They did not, so I could
They accepted, so I would not
They de-serve nothing less, than my best
I am my ancestor's reparation
Their acreage and their mule
White Supremacy tries to hold me black
White Supremacy tries to hold me black
Capitalism breaks my back
I'm strangled by the ism
Fatigued by homophobia
And still...... I rise, I rise, I rise because
I am my ancestor's reparation
Reparation, Reparation, Reparation
I am my ancestor's reparation
