CHRISTMAS PARTY

A little nervous, that?s me; all the neighbors, I?ll see,
Still I wouldn?t, I just couldn?t miss the Christmas Party.
Who will be there? let?s guess; Tom & Margie? Say ?yes?!
So I shouldn?t, I just couldn?t miss the Christmas Party.
Wipe my shoes on the doormat; hang my coat up, and hat;
Scarf I?ll throw in, now let?s go into the Christmas Party!
Every year we gather down the street,
with good friends we?ve not seen since July.
Finally comes the time to hug and greet,
Has it been that long? I don?t know why!
In the kitchen, I think, are punch & soda, to drink.
What?s that cooking? I?m just looking for food at the Christmas Party.
Near the window, a big tree; humming carols, we?re off key.
Once we?re singing, & corks are springing, then bring on the Christmas Party!
Every year we wear our evening best,
talk about Thanksgiving and the Fall,
Mac & Amy always seem impressed
at how the jumpy kids have grown so tall!
Open presents, at last! Rip the paper, too fast!
Found some booty, lots of looty--What a Christmas Party!
Do you see one, for me? Nuts & candy? Yippee!
I?ll be heavy as a Chevy after the Christmas Party.
Next year we will share our tales again,
What?s gone on with us since who knows when.
Stay in touch and call me now and then!
Gee, I sure hate to go; Is it starting to snow?
