Short Description of SongA light airy fun dual harmony song about the choice of making a choice.
Story Behind the SongI originally wrote the main riff for this song to try and simulate the sound of a horn section. The intervals of the harmony are directly inspired by that. The melody of the verses was directly inspired by groups such as the andrews sisters. I wrote this after I assembled a compilation of my fathers favorite music to play at his funeral.
Sittin and a reminiscin
about all my chameleonatin
wonderin what it was that I'd been trying to prove
Seems I been manipulatin
and a hip-o-crip-olatin
makin all my money by changing up my colorins too
I admit its true
I need a brand new point of view
I spent alot of time on fences
Too afraid to choose
So to better my hearteat
I put my own shoes on my feet
And instead of standing on them fences
Jumped down and plant some seeds
Maybe grow a little too
No more matriculatin
Got a masters in pontificatin
Doctorate in finding the mind Im starting to lose
From all of this hemmin and a hawin
Knightin and pawnin
in all this longin and shortenin
I've lost my will to improve
I admit its true
I need a brand new point of view
I spent alot of time on fences
Too afraid to choose
So to better my hearteat
I put my own shoes on my feet
And instead of standing on them fences
Jumped down and plant some seeds
Maybe grow a little too
